To date we have explored Puerto Rico, the spanish Virgin Islands (Culebra and Vieques), and St. Thomas. We circumnavigated St. Thomas and checked out Red Hook, Charlotte Amalie, Magens Bay, and Hull Bay. Magens Bay is an incredibly well protected harbor/bay on the North Side of St. Thomas and proved to be a difficult entrance as we had less than 3 feet under the keel for most of the entrance. We were one of two boats in the bay and the tourists cleared out around dusk- just in time for an exploration mission to the beach and a few cocktails. Hull Bay is around the corner from Magens Bay and we arrived at sunrise to check out the surf (see photos). Enroute to Vieques we caught our first fish (10 - 15 pound kingfish), which served as delicious fish tacos for the crew.
We have been slow to upload photos since most of our time to-date has been consumed by boat work, sailing and various other watersports, and exploring ashore. We finally got a chance to pirate some internet in a small deserted public plaza... Click here to view our first batch of photos.
